Urban Decay 'Shadow Box'

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Today I bring you a new gem to my make-up collection - the Urban Decay 'Shadow Box' eye shadow palette.

This palette, as well as being beautiful, is a stable for your collection with an array of 12 different, highly pigmented shadows. It is great for travelling as you have a good selection of shades to choose from for day and night make-up.

I wouldn't let the size of the palette put you off buying it as it is actually great to fit in your make-up bag for where ever you may be going.  There is a mixture of shimmery and matte shades (most of them being shimmery) as you can see from the photo about they are extremely pigmented, as I mentioned before. The photo above is the top row which contains Sin, Indo, Bordello, Tornado, Smog and Blackout. All of the shadows are buttery and soft to touch which makes them very easy to blend.

The bottom row contains the shades Flash, Mushroom, Lost, Freelove, Moonshadow and Baked. Urban Decay have created a palette that has shades for everyone! If you want to experiment more with your make-up using brighter colours this would be great to invest your money in with the green, blue, grey and purple all allowing you too be creative with your eye make-up.

You can get this product in the UK from Debenhams and it retails for £23.00 so it is very inexpensive compared to other Urban Decay palettes. The quality of the actual palette is very sturdy and would be difficult to break along with the high quality of the shadows.

Have you tried this palette, I would love to hear your thoughts?

Office OOTD

Top : Missguided
Midi Skirt : H&M
Coat : River Island
Lipstick : MAC Media

I have decided to do something a little different and go with an outfit of the day post for you (my apologies for the photo quality). This outfit is for work and this is the type of look I usually go for - midi skirt, top and sometimes a blazer.

I am absolutely loving this coat from River Island, although it was rather pricey, I pretty much wear this every day now that we are getting into colder weather this does keep me warm on my walk to and from work. The sleeve fall just below the elbow with a a pleather trim on the edge. The stripy top as you can see has a scoop back it's a good basic top to have in your wardrobe I think and paired with jeans can look more casual, but also dressed up a touch with a skirt like I have done.

I hope you liked this post, if you'd like to see more outfit posts let me know in the comments.

Peekaboo Peeptoe

Now, I love an ankle boot as much as the next girl. They are so versatile whether you want to dress them up for a dinner, drinks with your friends or you can dress them down just for a casual lunch or a day of shopping. So I'm loving this trend of peep toe and 'backless', chelsea style ankle boot as they just add a little something, something to an outfit.

The style I have chosen from BooHoo are quite plain with a gold detail zip on the outside of the boot and a zip on the inside. They were quite tight at the toe when I first got them and rubbed a lot but now that I've worn them in, I can wear them daily with no problems rubbing. I like to pair these boots with - well most things in my wardrobe whether it's skinny jeans or baggy trousers, they just wear so easily.

I have gotten so much wear out of these boots already and even though we are heading into the colder months in the UK, I will still be rocking these day to day, they are really comfy and good quality.

MAC Pint Pot | Groundworks

I have a recent purchase to talk to you about today which is the MAC Paint Pot in Groundworks. I have wanted this paint pot for so long now and I'm so happy I now own this beautiful product.

Ok, so it doesn't look much in the pot, I agree, but trust me it is stunning. If you are like me and don't tend to wear eyeshadow on a daily basis, but want to wear something other than a winged liner and mascara, then this paint pot is where it's at. Groundwork is a very neutral brown shade which looks so beautifully natural on the eye - that kind of 'no makeup'makeup effect which is good if, also like me, you work in an office and don't want to over do the eye makeup or even if you just want a quick and easy makeup look.

You can see in the photo how natural this colour is - gorgeous. The MAC paint pots are thick and creamy but easy to apply with either fingers, brushes or both, either way they are easy to blend out and work equally well as a base for eyeshadows. One this product is set it will not budge so it will last you all day, which is what we all want..right? There's no definite shimmer in this shadow, however, the finish is like a satin look which I like.

I will 100% be getting so much wear out of this product and really urge you to go and check it for yourself, if you haven't already got this in your collection, I think this is a must have.

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation

Today I have a luxury product review to talk to you about which is the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation my shade is B30.

This foundation retails for £31.50 so it is very deer for people of a younger age, however, if there is one product I will tell anyone to spend that little bit more money on its a good foundation. I haven't tried any of the other YSL products before so I can't compare to any of their other foundations but, I can safely say I am quite impressed.

Fusion Ink is very light weight with a silky texture to it and I would say it has a medium coverage. This foundation is better used with a primer to help it last all day long without any touch ups and I prefer to work this product into the skin with a damp makeup sponge for a better finish.

The finish of the foundation is a velvet finish so not too matte and not too dewy either so I would recommend a dewy finish primer, as a base for this product, if your after that kind of look. The product comes in a glass bottle with 2 lids and no pump, as you can see from the photo above, one on the lids is attached to a stick applicator. You can either apply foundation to your hand and then to your face or go straight ahead and apply it to your face. If you are prone to break outs I would recommend not applying to applicator directly on your face just because you don't want to put any bacteria from the breakout back into the rest of the foundation.

YSL offer 16 shades to chose from so if you are looking to spend a little bit of money I would definitely consider getting a tester of his foundation before you buy it just because it is more expensive than your average foundation.

I would really love to hear your thoughts on this foundation if you have tried it, leave your comments below.

KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick

So I have a review on the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in number 38 - Golden Taupe.

This eyeshadow stick has a very soft, creamy texture which is very easy to apply to the eye. It is extremely easy to blend, however, once it has set it really does not move and smudge. This product is very lightweight on the eye lid and looks beautiful on its own without any additional eyeshadows on top.

For £6.90 this shadow stick is very pigmented and easy to build up and layer for desired intensity, so you can wear this for an easy, quick daytime look or you can build up the colour for a smoking night time look. The particular colour I have chosen is a purpley, taupe shade with golden shimmers through it and will look beautiful with any colour eyes.

The photo above is just one swipe of the stick, so you can see just how pigmented and stunning this product is. KIKO have a 32 colours to choose from I store and online so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.

I highly recommend these shadow stick if you haven't tried them already, they are very affordable and long wearing. Leave any comments below.

Bare Minerals 'Well Rested' Concealer

Hey everyone, I tweeted a few weeks ago saying I was going to purchase this product from Beauty Bay (if you don't follow me on twitter all my links are down bellow).

I have really bad puffy, dark, purple circles under my eyes and I'm am on the hunt for an amazing concealer/corrector to help me cover them up (leave a comment if you have any suggestions). This concealer is an ivory toned eye brightener with yellow undertones. I still use this over the top of a small amount of concealer just for abit of extra coverage and to set my concealer too. The powder is very finely milled but a lot of it does all come out when I dispense into the lid, which makes it easy to pick up a load of product onto your brush but I just tap off the excess back into the lid. It gives such a pretty finish under the eye, with good coverage, a more brighter under-eye area so you look more awake and well rested, as the name suggests. I wouldn't say it hides my circles which is also why I use it along side another concealer, but it definitely helps tone them down tons. 'Well Rested' blends really easily into the skin, I use a big fluffy brush to apply and really blend it in for a flawless finish. A little bit goes a really long way with this produuct but as I mentioned it is easy to pick up loads, if you do use too much first time ,as I did, I just can't explain how I looked, it caked up loads and i just looked very, very high lighted in that area it all stood out. However, if you stick to a minimal amount you can build it lightly and make sure to blend very well, all will be fine.  The pwder is very lightweight and has a soft, feathery texture.
I personally really love this product and I use it every day for a quick wake up fix, and I use it especially more at night time. I would recommend picking this up or putting it on your Christmas list, as it's that time of year.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Hey everyone,
Recently I have been trying out the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (travel size 12ml) £12.50. I tried a sample of this before but it juist didn't work for me, but now I think about it, it may have had something to do with some other products I used(?), anyway I thought I would give it another chance as a friend of my uses it and really likes it.

The primer is a clear, transparent gel with a silky consistancy. It smooths out this skin nicely making my foundation glide over my skin and last a good amount of time wth out budging. I have found myself reaching for this if I'm going to work in the bar or going out in the evening as my make-up just doesn't budge so I have no need to take any touch up bits out with me. When I use this over the top of any blemishes I have I feel like the primer just smooths them down, obviously they are still raised, but they don't feel so raised when I am smoothing the primer onto my skin.
Another thing about the photo finish primer is that a little bit does go a long way. I use a pea size amount (as shown in the photo) to cover my entire face and it doesn't feel tacky or sticky on the skin like some primers can. This is 60% water so I find it works amazing with the Mac face and body foundation as they are both water bases products, it does work well with other foundations of course, but for me they just work amazing together on my skin. If you have quite oily or acne prone skin then this primer will be worth a try as it is oil free, the finish is very velvety-smooth to touch and slightly matte looking. Smashbox say that this primer is perfect for4 reducing fine lines and wrinkles, but as I'm only 19 I don't have wrinkles, so I cannot comment on that part. I love how lightweight the photo finish primer is, as it doesn't sit on top of the skin or weigh the skin down either. You can wear this primer alone (to smooth those wrinkles and fine lines) and/or under your foundation of choice. The packaging of this product is just a plain, transparent tube, as I said I have the travel size so its very cute and diddy, plus its easy to carry around if you are or do travel alot.

I would really recommend picking up with primer, which you can get from Boots £25 for the full size, if you're in the UK. It just makes my make-up look lovely, and feels very velvety on the skin, and as I mentioned it completely smooths out the skin leaving my imperfections feeling perfected.

Topshop Lip Crayon in 'Coy'

Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I wrote about Illamasqua's 'Androgen' pigment which I love but it can be a little pricey for some people, so whilst in Brighton Topshop I took a nosey at the make-up stand and picked up their lip crayon in 'Coy'. As you can see in the picture it is an amazing dupe for the Illamasqua pigment, and this only costs £7 too. This lip crayon has great colour pay off and is true to the colour in the bullet. 'Coy' is a beautiful peachy, salmon pink with a matte finish, I find that when I apply it on the lips it goes a little tacky and sticky as it dries and once dry it acts as a stain on the lips, having said that the formula is still very creamy, light and applies smoothly.
Coy is quite a popular shade and I have seen it talked about a lot, I don't think the colour is anything out there, but the formula I can see why people really do like this product. I like that this is in a pencil type packaging as it is easy to use and travel friendly.

Too Faced 'La Creme' Lip Creame 'In The Buff'

Hey everyone, my lips recently have been really dry and horrible recently and I've been coting them in Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream over night, but during the day I needed a moisturising lipstick to maintain my lips hydration. In Boots a couple of weeks back I picked up the Too Faced La Creme Lip Cream £18 in the shade 'In The Buff' which is a brown nude shade, but slightly peachy I would say, which I like because it is perfect for everyday wear. I will start of by saying I disprise the stench of this lipstick it really gets to the back of throat and tastes revolting but after a while the smell does die down, the smell of white lotus flower is really over powering for me.
Having said that, this lipstick does all the things I was looking for. It is a rich moisturisng formula which hydrates my lips for a good 4-5 hours I would say while I am at work I do touch up a tad on my dryer areas for extra hydration. 'In the Buff' lipstick is very creamy and pigmented which I like, of course, it is quite luxurious to wear on the mouth as it smooths some areas and I can feel it hydrating my lips, as when your lips are dry they feel tight, rough and sore, but once I apply this lipstick they just instantly feel released, smooth and more calm. Also the colour of this lipstick lasts just as long as the hydration, which is an added bonus. I was weary of how this shade would look on my skin tone but it actually fits pretty well, it isn't too dark and it isn't too light it just looks surprisingly flattering for me. There are 15 shades to chose from so there is something there for everyone and I really recommend picking one up.

Have you tried this lipstick before?

Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder

Hey everyone, recently Boujois re-launched their Java Rice Powder to celebrate their 150th bithday. Wowza. This powder was Bourjois' best selling cult product in 1879 and have been reinvented for 2013, and you can pick it up in Boots and Superdrug in the UK for £9.99.

I'll start by saying I love the gorgeous vintage looking packaging it just looks super pretty sitting in my make-up collection, plus I am a sucker for vintage/pin up themes. The lid is a screw top but inside there is a sifter dispencer which means there is less mess when you open the lid and you have a lot more control over how much powder is released. On to the powder, it is a pink, feather light, loose powder which is very soft and smooth to the touch. It has small shimmers through it to help achieve a lumious finish on the skin. I use this product to set my under eye concealer as it is quite light reflective but also my skin looks flawless all over and it sets foundation and concealer really well. Although there is shimmer through-out the product it is not glittery on the skin and it just leaves the skin looking luminous and pretty.
This is such a beautiful product I just can not fault it, ladies you need to go and grab this it smells gorgeous, it looks gorgeous, it feels fluffy and soft and it gives the skin a flawless finish, and it also sets your make-up into place all day and/or night.

Have yo tried this powder yet? and what are your thoughts?

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Hey guys,
Now quite recently I was in Boots in Brighton and I was browsing and I saw they had a Too Faced stand there which I had never seen before. I had to take a look,of course. I have a four page list of products that I want to pick up, oops, but one of those products was the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer the link is to the Beuaty Bay website as I cannot find it on the Boots site, although I did pick it up in store £25.

This products smells absolutly deliceous, and so it should as it is made with real cocoa powder, it is sweet chocolate but not too intense or over powering. The bronzer is matte which is super, as you can use for bronzing and then build in certain areas for a contour if you wish to. I will agree with those of you who think it looks super dark in the pan, but I can also assure you it isn't as dark as you may think. When I compared this to their 'Milk' Chocolate bronzer that one pretty much matched my skintone, and this just gave a light dusting of bronze over the face. Although it is matte it still leaves the skin with a shine-free sun kissed glow which I love. It is a similar concept to the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer except this this Too Faced one doesn't have an orange-y tone to it.
The packaging is pretty, however, the lid is loose and does rattle and as there is a mirror inside it I am worried it will crack in my make-up bag, but it hasn't happened yet, and speaking of the mirror it is a very good size. With some products you can find that when you swirl your brush/finger in the product you get a lot of excess powder fall over the place but I can safely say, I didn't find that with this product unless used to firmly of course. There are such little faults I can give this product really. It is easy to blend, light, smooth, smells a-m-azing, and I find it compliments my skintone very nicely too. I would recommend for more fairer skintones useing the Mlk chocolate shade.

Have you tried this bronzer? What is your favourite Too Faced product?
